The steering committee is an organization made up of representatives from the world of business, culture, and research, acting as a permanent representative of the stakeholders involved in the Course of Study.
The committee is composed of the Coordinator of the Course of Study, the Administrative Manager of the Centre, three professors designated by the Center Council, a student representative and a maximum of fifteen other external members appointed by the Center Council representing the world of business, culture and research.
Depending on the topics being discussed, the steering committee may be extended to include representatives of local production entities, representatives of local authorities and the Center's Quality Manager.
The steering committee elects a Coordinator from among its members (usually the Coordinator of the Course of Study) who presides over it, a Deputy Coordinator and a Secretary with the function of taking minutes of the meetings.

The activities of the steering committee
The activities of the steering committee aim to expand relationships with external stakeholders in the design and evaluation of the Course of Study.
In the implementation phase (Course delivery phase), the contribution of the consultation through the steering committee is expressed through the following actions:
- Joint review of any changes or modifications in the educational path due to external and/or internal innovations prompted by issues identified during the implementation phase;
- Improved definition and implementation of internship activities, along with their proper assessment and the identification of topics for thesis projects;
- Consultation for the identification of external experts who can provide opportunities for the dissemination of professional skills and/or the languages and cultures of the workplace within the scope of the study program.
In the evaluation phase of the Course of Study, the steering committee plays a particularly important role in the processes of analysis and improvement of the Course. It serves as a central point of reference for discussing analyses aimed at measuring the levels of learning achieved, success rates, and students' completion times, with the goal of verifying the attainment of objectives and the overall effectiveness of the educational pathway in the training project.
Similarly, results related to both placement and the career paths followed by the students in the program must also receive specific attention from the committee. The tools that can be used in this phase include monitoring activities carried out by the University and its consortia on graduates already employed in the workforce (such as Alma Laurea), as well as assessments conducted by representatives of the productive sectors within companies or organizations they represent.
As a result of the committee's activities, an evaluation document will be produced and made available to the Coordinator of the Course of study.
The recommendations arising from the evaluation phase can be used to implement necessary changes in the educational framework and serve as the primary basis for the course improvement process.
