The University is committed to the continuous improvement of the quality of its degree programs, research, third mission, and educational facilities.
Quality assurance, as outlined on the University’s dedicated pages (see useful links), supports ongoing monitoring of the outcomes of education, research, and the third mission through tools provided by the AVA system (self-assessment, accreditation, and periodic evaluation of the Italian university system).

The C3A Center promotes continuous improvement in education through the following quality policies:

  • Ensuring high-quality educational pathways and offering a valuable educational program that meets the needs of stakeholders (social partners, students, families, teaching staff, and society as a whole);
  • Encouraging productivity and merit in students' educational journeys;
  • Improving services provided to students;
  • Enhancing the process of internationalization;
  • Evaluating and making teaching evaluation outcomes transparent.

Students' opinions on the courses and their satisfaction are essential in the self-assessment process. Faculty members, degree program review groups, and the student-teacher joint commission can identify targeted corrective actions and implement improvements in teaching quality.

To carry out effective monitoring, the following documents/databases must be periodically completed:

  • The SUA-CdS, i.e., the Annual Single Form of the Degree Programs,
  • The annual monitoring form (SMA) of the Degree Programs,
  • The cyclical review report of the Degree Programs,
  • The annual report of the Teacher-Student Joint Commission.

The Center implements its quality assurance policy by adhering to the University's quality system for both research and teaching, in accordance with legislative provisions and the guidelines of ANVUR.

In the Quality Assurance system for Research and the Third Mission, the periodic completion of the following documents/databases is required:

  • The SUA-RD, i.e., the Annual Single Form of Departmental Research,
  • The review report.

Key players in the quality assurance system at the C3A Center:

  • Director: The Director coordinates the educational and scientific policies of the Center and works towards their implementation by representing the Center, presiding over the Council, and overseeing the execution of resolutions.
  • Quality Delegate: The Quality Delegate promotes the continuous improvement of the quality of Teaching, Research, and the Third Mission of the Center, ensuring ongoing dialogue between the University and the Department/Center regarding quality assurance initiatives.
    The Quality Delegate of the Center is Professor Flavia Gasperi.
  • Center Council: The Center Council is the collegial body of the Center and is responsible for quality assurance.
  • Teacher-Student Joint Commission (CPDS): The CPDS is established at the academic structure level with the broadest possible representation of students from the degree programs it oversees. It is tasked with monitoring the educational offerings and the quality of teaching, identifying indicators for evaluating outcomes, and providing opinions on the activation and closure of degree programs.
  • Coordinators of the Degree Programs: They are responsible for designing and reviewing the Degree Programs (CdS), completing the SUA-CdS form, the annual monitoring forms, and the cyclical review report.
    They must effectively monitor the progress of the Degree Programs, ensure the implementation of planned actions, periodically revise educational objectives, verify the achievement of proposed goals, and intervene promptly when issues arise.
    They preside over the GdRs (Working Groups) of their respective CdS and regularly engage in weekly meetings with the “teaching coordination committee,” a working group that operates across the two Courses of Study
    The names of the heads of the Courses of Study are available on the contact page of each CdS:
  • Degree Program Review Groups: These groups are the main participants in the self-assessment process of the degree programs, as they represent the direct actors in the implementation of the review process. They are responsible for preparing the annual monitoring form and the cyclical review report, ensuring the monitoring of the degree program and intervening in case of critical issues with appropriate improvement actions.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Viticulture and Oenology: Gianfranco Anfora, Michele Faralli, Gianmaria Lancini
    • Master's Degree in Agrifood Innovation Management: Annachiara Berardinelli, Fabrizio Costa, Lisa Bucciarelli
  • Student Representatives
    The main tasks of the student representatives are to report observations, issues, and suggestions for improvement regarding the educational pathway and to ensure transparency and information sharing.
    Student participation is required in all review groups and in the Student-Teacher Joint Commission (CPDS).
    The list and contact details of the student representatives are available on the C3A Representatives page.
  • Steering Committees
    The Steering Committee is an organization made up of representatives from the world of work, culture, and research. It serves as a stable representation of stakeholders in the degree program.
    It is composed of the coordinator of the degree program, three professors designated by the Center Council, one student representative, an administrative officer of the Center, and up to twelve external members appointed by the Center Council to represent the world of work, culture, and research. Depending on the topics discussed, it may be expanded to include representatives from local industries, authorities, and the quality officer of the Center.
    The Steering Committee elects a coordinator, a deputy, and a secretary from among its members to preside over meetings and record proceedings.

Students at the Center can contribute to identifying and resolving issues related to the quality of educational or support services offered by the Center, including reporting inappropriate behaviors or actions, in the following ways:

  • By contacting their representatives in the Center Council and other bodies.
  • By reaching out to the coordinators of their academic area.
  • By writing to the email address: c3a@unitn.it.

Reports will be verified and communicated to the relevant parties, ensuring confidentiality.
There are also other University bodies to contact:

  • The Committee for Equal Opportunities, promoting and safeguarding equal opportunities, well-being, and combating discrimination, working to protect the work and organizational well-being of all University staff.
  • The Confidential Counsellor, who is tasked with preventing, managing, and helping resolve cases of bullying and sexual harassment brought to their attention in the study or work environment.
